This remarkable architectural ensemble in Romanesque style includes a chapel and a priory dating from the 11th century. The Saint-Gilles chapel was the priory of the poet Ronsard from 1566 until his death in 1585. Paintings dating from the 12th century, among the oldest in Romanesque art, adorn the apses of the choir and are exceptional in the meaning that they represent three Christs on the cross, which is not seen anywhere else. We are currently developing a diagnosis of the work to be done urgently. In fact, the roof of the priory is leaking in multiple places, which has caused serious damage to the framework and therefore to the entire building. Additionally, some walls are also in very poor condition.
